Suspected ritualists killed a 73-year-old pensioner identified as Mrs Adetutu Ajayi in her residence at Number 10 Moferere, Ajilosun area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital yesterday August 1st. The suspected ritualists drained her blood and made away with her fingers
According to family sources, the deceased who lives alone in her apartment was found dead by some members of her church who had come visiting. She was meant to attend a night vigil at her church which is located on her street and when she did not come for the vigil, the church members decided to pay her a visit. There they met the butchered body of the septuagenarian. The mother of five is said to be a daughter of the former Accountant General of the Old Western Region, Samuel Sotoowa, and was also a retiree of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture.
It is believed that her blood was drained and taken away as a bucket which she normally kept by her side was nowhere to be found when the sad incident was discovered.
Her remains have been deposited at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital morgue. The police in the state say they are aware of the matter and have launched an investigation with the aim of apprehending the culprits
