On 30 May 2006, Walcott became England’s youngest ever senior football player aged 17 years and 75 days. He represented England in 3-1 friendly win over Hungry at Old Trafford.

6. YOUNGEST PLAYER EVER TO SCORE FOR THE ENGLAND UNDER 21 TEAM
On 15 August 2006, Walcott became the youngest player ever to score for the England under 21 Team when he scored the opener after three minutes in England’s 2–2 draw with Moldova. This game against Moldova was his first cap for the England Under-21s.
7. TORCHBEARER FOR BEIJING OLYMPIC 2008
On 6 April 2008, Walcott was a torchbearer for the Beijing Olympic 2008 as it was paraded around London.
